Indian Motorcycles has announced that the Indian Scout will be available for sale at UK dealerships this Saturday, 17 January. The first Indian Scouts were delivered to US buyers in December and back orders are still waiting to be filled. While demand isn’t likely to be quite as high in the UK, the Scout is still expected to be a big hit in the cruiser market.
Pricing for the Indian Scout starts at £10,395 but that price can rise dramatically if optioning many of the factory accessories available, such as saddle bags, chrome detailing and a pillion seat (yes, that’s correct, no pillion seat as standard). Available in black, red, matte silver and matte black, Indian Motorcycles claim that the Scout is the lightest bike in its class at 255 kg.
Specifications for the ‘nimble’ cruiser include a brand new 1133 cc fuel injected and liquid-cooled V-twin making 100hp and 98 Nm of torque at 5,900 rpm. Seat height is 643 mm, throttle is ride by wire and ABS comes as standard.
The Indian Scout has received near universal praise from the motorcycle press, especially from America where many see it has a true rival to Harley-Davidson and one which is actually a quality machine.
